Teacher Training Level 1

Due to popular demand Dharma Publishing Academy is again offering a comprehensive teacher training based on Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche’s book Kum Nye – A Tibetan Yoga (formerly called Kum Nye Relaxation). This training is not available for people living in the Netherlands, Germany or Brasil because our associated Kum Nye Centers in Amsterdam, Cologne, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro offer the exact same program in their native language. Our program is open to anyone in the world by webinar or come and join us for a full retreat for nine days at Dharma College, Berkeley, California.

The training will consist of three sections:

  • What is Kum Nye?
  • How to practice Kum Nye?
  • How to teach Kum Nye?

You will receive in depth training in both theory and practice, and even the How to teach Kum Nye is interesting and inspiring for those who join the program for the Love of Kum Nye, without the wish to become a teacher.

No prior experience is required, but you have to start promptly with individual online eKum Nye self-study programs level 1-5, 6, 7 and 10. A second important self-study component is the line by line reading of Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche’s book Kum Nye – A Tibetan Yoga plus commentary by Arnaud Maitland – approx. 30 hours.

Kum Nye

Initially, Kum Nye can be used to reduce stress in body, speech and mind. However, Kum Nye goes much further. As the Kum Nye meaning of relaxation is: waking up. It first teaches us ‘how to feel’ in a sensing manner. Feeling and thinking or better still: knowing, make up every experience. The world of feeling, of sensing freshly and directly has been neglected in most of our upbringings. Kum Nye restores this most vital sensory ability. By learning the language of the body and establishing a home of feeling instead of conditioning, our inner knowingness – the body of knowledge – wakes up. Through Kum Nye we make contact with the reality of our nature!

All great experiences are based on feelings such as love, compassion, joy, inner balance and even understanding for it to be embodied, must be a feeling experience. Kum Nye restores this most vital sensory ability. Kum Nye opens up sensory experience, relaxes the heart and by activating the flow of feeling we link with larger rhythms of the universe – we tap into abundant vitality and creativity.  The awakening of feeling and knowing frees up a genuine, spontaneous energy to act and take responsibility. No additional step is required.

Kum Nye works! We invite you to learn Kum Nye in depth, embody it, then share it with others. We are dedicated to make Kum Nye available globally. You can play a key role in this wholesome activity, benefiting yourself and others.
