Kum Nye Meditation Retreat
Aug 12 – 24, 2018
Haus Ohrbeck in Osnabruck/Damme, Germany
with Arnaud Maitland
What is the promise of my life? What will become of me? Can I trust my intuition, the language of my body which may not meet what is expected of me? What is the voice of my heart and how can I support and encourage my real self to show up and guide me?
For a moment consider you are living two lives. From the moment of conception, the seed of life is sprouting in the body given by your parents. Your physical development grows, matures and based on your conditioning you choose a path in the world – the worldly life. Meanwhile, the seed of the promise of life also grows, matures and is programmed towards fulfillment of potential. In this spiritual life human flourishing is the seed and the fruit of being human. It may be said that a meaningful life is one that in retrospect was worthwhile living.
The restlessness, anxiety even basic emotions we experience, may reflect the imbalance between these two lives: the spiritual and the worldly life. Emotions may signal: something needs attention; something is being neglected. Through Kum Nye Meditation being spiritual and worldly can be unified, beyond the spiritual and worldly. Tarthang Tulku would describe this as: ‘simply be yourself’.
Dharma Publishing Academy offers our 12 day Kum Nye Meditation retreat, the most in-depth and comprehensive of the year. We will first cultivate a deep quiescence, a sense of inner peace in which the energies that are now broken up into two lives, flow unhindered, merging into one another. Secondly, Kum Nye Meditation develops a bright openness in which all senses not only work two ways in and out, but become gateways to both the soul and the present. Thirdly, with the depth of being spacious, we participate in valuable communications between the inner and outer worlds, between the potential of life and life itself. the Kum Nye mediation approach teaches us how life in fact presents what is next for us, what direction to go and take care of in our spiritual and worldly development simultaneously. We can trust the language of the body to be our best counselor. Kum Nye works!
Love of life and our role in it is the Kum Nye way.
Material from Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche’s Trilogy of new books on Body, Speech, and Mind further open doors to aspects of us in dimensions of time and space we were never aware of before. Still, being the same at heart from the very beginning of our life – a spiritual being programmed towards fulfillment of potential, Kum Nye Mediation shows us the way to experience intimacy with all that is. Our expression of this experience enables us to let creativity be our way of being, shifting from conditioned self to creative self.
This intimate retreat does not allow late arrivals, early departures or absence in the meantime. From 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. we explore awareness – the one who is aware of seeing, aware of feeling, aware of breathing and thinking. Kum Nye will help us to turn around and enter into awareness and here we discover the union of the spiritual with the worldly, as love for life.
The program starts Sunday night August 12 at 6 p.m. with dinner and ends after (!) lunch on Friday August 24 2018. We are lucky to hold this retreat at Haus Ohrbeck again near Osnabrück/Damme in Germany.
